Multi-Industry Veteran Team Assembled; Services Add Value for Game Players, Creators Alike
DALLAS - (Mar. 12, 2014) - Today, Yvolver, Inc. (www.yvolver.com) is proud to reveal a new, strategic service, YvolverTM, launching this year for mobile game developers to increase user engagement, retention and revenue in their apps. Yvolver lets everyone earn prizes by playing their favorite phone and tablet games. The newly formed company addresses market challenged by rapidly increasing user-acquisition costs, which rose 22 percent during the past year alone.
Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Yvolver distinguishes itself in the mobile space with its unique services focused on three core offerings: proven Loyalty Techniques, Predictive Analytics and a robust Technology Toolset. These features are designed by a veteran team from the game development, digital retail, data science and loyalty industries. With this combination of talent and services, Yvolver can offer capabilities and tools previously unavailable to game developers.
“We listened to the game development community and heard loudly and clearly that both the current economic model is broken and new solutions are needed,” said Steve Nix, CEO of Yvolver. “At Yvolver, we provide developers a healthy alternative to running in the user- acquisition race. Our tools, data and insights on existing and organically acquired users level the playing field for our development partners, allowing them to focus on what they do best: continue making great games.”
Prior to co-founding Yvolver, Nix served as General Manager of Digital Distribution at GameStop, Inc. following his time as Director of Digital Platforms at id Software and CEO of Ritual Entertainment.
Hal Brierley, Founder and Chief Loyalty Architect at Brierley+Partners, is a key investor and advisor to Yvolver, providing counsel on the design of its loyalty services. As a pioneer in the design of major loyalty programs, including American Airlines AAdvantage®, Hilton HHonorsTM and GameStop Power-Up RewardsTM programs, Hal brings decades of user-behavior experience and key learnings to the team.
“The word ‘Loyalty’ is a greatly misused term today,” states Brierley. “Years ago, it meant offering reward miles and points over a period of years for a dream vacation. Today, the game has changed, as major loyalty programs offer points for this month’s purchases, which then drive profitable behavior once the rewards are redeemed the following month.” page1image21008
Yvolver users increase a monthly Yvolver Score by completing events set by the developer in combination with making in-game purchases. The service utilizes high-quality interfaces that provide discerning players with an uninterrupted experience.
“Our predictive analytics will help developers pull the best levers to deliver maximum value for players while also driving the specific in-game behaviors that are critical to a mobile game’s success,” said Cory Lewis, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Yvolver. Previously, Lewis served at Apple, Inc. as Games Manager for the App StoreSM.
Yvolver users convert their monthly Yvolver Score into prizes ranging from exclusive digital items to in-game power ups and even physical goods such as personal electronics, clothing, accessories and custom-branded items.
“Physical rewards are open to North America at launch, and we’ll expand that offering to other countries as we build out the Yvolver catalog,” said Nix.
A beta version of the Yvolver service will launch exclusively with Zombie Gunship® Zero from Limbic®. This new app release brings the incredibly fun and addicting gameplay of the original Zombie Gunship title to even bigger audiences as a free-to-play game for mobile devices.
Arash Keshmirian, Limbic’s CEO, states: “Running a successful independent mobile games studio has become an increasingly complex challenge during the past two years. Market competition is at an all-time high, and marketing resources are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with the Yvolver team to not only help engage and retain our current fan base, but to bring those fans real, added value within the Zombie Gunship Zero experience. It’s a win-win for us.”
Zombie Gunship Zero will be available for download on March 13th, and the debut of the Yvolver beta service will follow in the near future.
The Yvolver team will be attending the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, CA. Game developers interested in learning more about the Yvolver service at the conference should please contact: email@example.com.
